5 tips: To get a new headshot or not?
You've probably seen the LinkedIn stat that having a profile picture makes you 14x more likely to be viewed by others. That's freaking HUGE!
Your headshot is your first chance to make a great impression and build credibility as a professional in your industry. So how do you figure out if it's time for an update?
Here are my top short and sweet tips to help you decide:
Does your profile photo represent who you are professionally *right now*?
Are you proud of the impression your future employer or client might get when they view your LinkedIn profile?Do your headshots look like you?
Think about whether your clients or future employer would recognise you from them. Current hairstyle, glasses, etc. Were your headshots taken in the last 2-3 years?
Many people realise their profile photo is 5 or even 10 years old. We change in looks, and also grow as people year to year. What are your professional aspirations now - do they match the image your profile photo is giving?Do your headshots represent you as the professional you are today... and also who you aspire to become over the coming year?
Sometimes people crop their photo from a wedding or formal event group photo because they like the way they look - however, is this representing you in your professional position and your future goals?
If you’re kind bored by it, or not feeling a connection with your photo - that’s a strong indicator to get ones you feel hecking proud of.Do you like your current headshots?! (Or do they make you cringe every time you see them...)
This is a biggie for so many people. You deserve to put out an image you feel really proud of into the world. Feeling that *cringe* every time you see those old photos of you chips away at your self-confidence.
BONUS TIP: Confidence!
My clients rave about the confidence boost a GREAT photo experience can have - it's a huge boost as you step into the next chapter of your professional life. 🤩
