5 impactful places you can use your personal branding photos right now
1. Your profile photos - across social media
Let’s start with the obvious; your social media profile photos. While it may seem obvious, updating these is something that is neglected way too often (take a scroll through LinkedIn right now - so many missed opportunities).
Make sure you keep yours up-to-date. And when you upload your new profile photos, share a post using that same photo, introducing yourself.
When you share a post introducing yourself, do remember to make it about them - how you can help them, their problem or pain point you help solve, etc.
You might share an insight - something your audience may not know about you. This helps your people get to know you and builds trust and connection.
2. Social post strategy
People buy from people. They want to get to know you are the right person for them to help solve their problem.
With this in mind, plan to be seen.
For example, if you’re on Instagram, think of the grid on your feed - you want to show up every 9-12 posts. This is a helpful guideline to stay top of mind as you share across your social media platforms of choice.
3. Your email account profile photo
You know that little circle beside someone’s name in your email inbox? Most of the time people leave it as default (this might show up as a default colour w the first letter of your name).
You are not going to stand out in someone’s inbox like that!
Next time you’re in your emails, scroll through and see who has a professional photo photo set to show up.
This brand touchpoint is missed by so many people. Perhaps it’s not always intuitive to set up - but you will stand out as professional when you get it right.
If you are having trouble finding where to update yours, try typing into Google: “How to set up [your email provider ie gmail, Outlook] profile photo”.
Remember to keep it up-to-date, too.
4. Your email signature
Remind them you are a real person every time you email.
It’s so easy to get lost in email admin and needing to reply quickly. However, if you cannot recall someone, a photo of their face in their email signature can really help jog your memory!
Having a professional-looking email signature helps people get in touch more quickly with you, makes it super easy for them to pass your details on as a referral, and stops the frustration of trying to find your phone number back though a bajillion emails (as me how I know 🙄 ).
Your email signature can include: your name, position/title, contact phone numbers, website, social links, call to action, highlight current promo, etc - plus a photo of you to help them put a face to your name.
5. Your About page AND your Contact page on your website
Including your photos on your About page seems like another obvious one - but it always blows me away how many people neglect to include this.
Also think about where the last place someone will visit on your website before they hit ‘Submit’ on that contact form… Yeppers, it’s your Contact page.
Always remember that people buy from people.
Help your future client get to know you and trust that YOU are the person they want to do business with, by sharing photos of you. They will feel they get to know you at a glance.
